Surgery Day:

I was all checked in to the hospital and the doctor came in to talk to me before the surgery. He also made me sign a couple of papers. Then he told the nurse to prep me for surgery. When the nurse was rolling me up to the operation room I was so afraid. We finally got to the operation room and they put the anesthesia mask on me and the surgery started. When I woke up my mom was sitting in the bedside chair. I asked her how the surgery went and she said it went very well and they were able to remove more than expected. I have to stay in the hospital for a couple more days then I am cleared to go home. The day I was cleared I went to my mom's house and she took care of me until I was able to go back to school. The recovery was pretty good but some things were very painful to do, like sitting up to quickly was a killer! When I was all healed up I went back to school. I was in my organic chemistry class when a sharp pain shot up my back and I silently cried out in pain. I sucked it up for the rest of class but let me tell you I was in severe pain. After class, I walked to my car, which I didn’t think was possible with the amount of pain I was feeling at the moment. When I got to my car I drove to my mom's house and from there we went straight to the hospital. We checked in and waited for my doctor to be available. When the doctor was ready he took me to an examination room and checked out my back. He said he couldn’t really tell what was going on in there so I would need a CT. When the CT was done he told me that the tumor left on my spine was pressing down on my spine and causing the pain. That meant I had to be on bed rest for a couple weeks. Which sucked because I was excited about going back to classes. Bed rest is very boring all I do is sleep, watch TV, and read. I actually have gotten a lot of reading done, I read three books and am on my fourth. Finally, my bed rest is over and my second surgery is coming up soon.
