BEST FRIENDS

As rains lash my place,

the hidden poet awakes with grace..

The chirping birds get free to fly,

Leaving behind the broken cage .

The air fills in with school memories,

flashing before me the old stories..

Belonging to a small sweet town,

cherished for its friendship glories.

As the birds fly high,

the lost poet weeps and smiles ..

for the touch of winds make her feel

as if an old friend has passed by.

The lofty trees too bow down,

as the winds sail around..

connecting the ones spread around

far away but strongly bound.

The shower drains away

the thoughts of being at bay..

and it gets crystal clear

that BEST FRIENDS never walk away.

I dedicate this piece of love to my best friends from school, Madhu and Aishwarya.
