How Everyone Experiences Trauma and can Transform from It

People think that trauma comes rarely to people, but it happens to everyone due to disappointments. Trauma is a part of life, and it is a disservice to not acknowledge it. However, we are never permanently crippled by trauma because learning self-care makes us even stronger. Thus, we all need to acknowledge our trauma and find ways of fighting through it.

We do not just grow from our trauma but transform into totally different people. Some people are naturally more resilient, however, what matters more in getting over trauma is the openness to hope. Thus it’s so important that we recognize this growth in others so we see it’s possible. Afterward, we can act and start doing things like meditation that lessens the anxiety that we feel. This way, our muscles relax and our blood pressure goes down and lets us be more compassionate and focused.

These practices allow us to be calm but also show us that self-improvement is possible. People just need to do this consistently until they eventually start to see the effects and start changing themselves.

Then, the best time to deal with your trauma is now and not some turning point that may never happen. This works for everyone as well, as it has even been shown that children who have experienced war had their PTSD symptoms eliminated by this. In this case, the facilitators have not even been psychology experts but simple high school teachers. Then, this type of healing is available to everyone willing and committed to working on themselves. This had nothing to do with degrees and everything to do with humility to learn how to help.

Expressive meditation is specifically helpful for trauma so that you can release all your tension. Here, you can shake your body when you feel overwhelmed to counteract how much you freeze. This has been proven to be more effective as it also works with the body. It seems silly but it works and we have to at least try it.

You can also draw whatever is in your head to release it on paper. You can draw yourself, and then draw your problems, and then draw yourself with your problem solved. Through this, you understand yourself and find a solution to your problem that might be unexpected.

Lastly, you can imagine that you’re consulting your unconscious. Anyone can do this technique as long as you’re able to relax and imagine you’re with a guide in a safe space. Just do this until you get answers since, initially, you may only enjoy that safe space and not gain any advice. It does not even need to be the same guide in all your sessions, and you can always push the guides to explain their answers.
