What do you love about life?

In this time of uncertainty, it can be easy to get overwhelmed by fear, stress and anxiety. In this article, I want to take a step back amidst this chaos and express my gratitude towards life. I encourage you to do this exercise as well.

I love that life is like an uphill climb. It is full of obstacles for us to tackle. It forces us to challenge ourselves, and it is what makes life exciting and fulfilling. The challenges that we face, no matter how small or how big, whether that is doing boring homework or fighting the planet’s biggest challenges such as climate change, gives us a sense of purpose. Even though at times, this struggle may seem unenjoyable, it is what makes life worth living. And when we fall, we are able to get back up. We adjust and reiterate. We can keep pushing in the face of adversity.

I love that life makes me happy.

I love that every human is different in every aspect. Each of us has different opinions, different values, different passions, and different perspectives on life. It makes each of us unique and interesting in our own ways. Our diversity is what brings us together, allows us to bounce off each other’s ideas, and have exciting conversations.

I love that no human being is perfect. There is always something to improve, something new to learn.

I love that life gave me the ability to communicate. This is something we often take for granted, but language is such a beautiful and powerful tool in my opinion. It gives us the ability to express and to persuade, to share thoughts and ideas, and to express complex concepts such as love and hatred with words.

I love that we can find beauty in small things.

I love that every human’s journey different. While some might seek to climb Mount Everest, others are satisfied with surmounting small mountains. We will have different highs and lows, peaks and valleys, ebb and flow. We will have different experiences and different challenges depending on the environment we grew up in.

I love that life gave me the ability to see and to feel. Happiness or sadness, beauty and ugliness. Life is nothing and everything.

Finally, I love that life gives me the chance to enjoy food and sleep. There’s nothing better than that :p

This is my non-exhaustive list of the things I love about life. What is your list?
