Ant picks up incorrect Java version while building.

This happens for various reasons which i’ll not discuss. I countered it while setting up jenkins. Lets fix it.

1. Open the build.xml file for ant. If you are using eclipse Android or ADT, this build .xml is not the one that is in your ptoject. This build.xml is in :

<ANDROD INSTALLTION DIRECTORY\sdk\tools\ant

2. Search for lines :

<property name=”java.target” value=”

<property name=”java.source” value=”

3. Point both these values to the java version you want to take up. Eg:

<property name=”java.target” value=”1.7"/>

<property name=”java.source” value=”1.7"/>

3. Restart whatever applications u r using ur ant in. Eg if it runs from jenkins, then restart it.

4. Done!
