The Law of Attracting More Clients

by Julie Sharenow

Being a lawyer in South Florida is busy. Miami is a litigious city, full of thousands of firms, tons of international business, and many up and coming fields that include entertainment, environmental, and import-export law. More closely aligned with Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco than our Southern counterparts, it’s a fast-paced industry full of competition.

Expanding your client reach and growing your clientele can be hard in any city, especially one as hot as Miami. Work weeks that reach upwards of 50 hours. Phone calls, emails, research, writing briefs, court appearances, and more. You likely don’t have time to eat lunch, let alone travel to meet a prospective client. But here’s the thing — Miami-Dade is America’s eighth largest county, with one of the country’ highest increases in new residents. It’s an opportunity law firms can’t afford to miss, yet it requires something little of them have — time.

Time to complete the already overflowing pile documents and work. Time to travel outside of downtown or the immediate area of your firm, and time for a life outside of practice. Luckily, there is a way to gain more time and reconnect to your community with Brightline Trains. Here are three ways a seemingly old-school form of transportation is helping professionals across all sectors, especially lawyers, get the most out of South Florida’s market.

Expand Client Reach
Whether you live in West Palm and commute downtown, have a second office in Fort Lauderdale, or are just a slave to the I-95 slog, chances are you have travel needs that are currently impeding upon your billable hours and client reach. In fact, residents of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties have some of the worst commutes in the country, spending at least 90 minutes a day trying to get to work. That’s an hour and a half spent idling in bumper to bumper traffic while the emails flow in, the phone rings, and your stress levels rise.

Workplace Freedom
You don’t need an office to get work done, and frankly, good riddance. A virtual law firm may not be your cup of tea, but there’s no reason your firm can’t adopt some of their remote working practices to better serve your clients. Brightline provides the newest technology in rail travel available in America today. Not only will your ride get you to your next appointment fast and on time, but every element of our service is also designed with the business commuter in mind. Tray tables that double as desks. Free high-speed Wi-Fi that’s as reliable as our trains. Plenty of USB and power outlets to charge while you work. Brightline offers everything you need to work solo or with your team. On the way to an important meeting? We offer table facing seats for breakout sessions and debriefs while en route. Don’t spend your day feeling tethered to your desk. Take it on the road with you and see more of South Florida while you’re at it.
